Uber has got rid of 400 of their 1,200-marketing staff yesterday. It is not sure what impact that will have on their Irish workforce.
The company is looking to trim down the marketing staff levels – apparently “to build a consistent brand narrative across audience, products and regions” – what ever that means.
Chief executive Dara Khosrowshahi emailed staff yesterday sharing his concerns about poor growth and a vast organisational marketing structure.
Chief executive Dara Khosrowshahi said: “Today, there’s a general sense that while we’ve grown fast, we’ve slowed down. Many of our teams are too big, which creates overlapping work, makes for unclear decision owners, and can lead to mediocre results,. So, put simply, we need to get our edge back. Being fast wins.”
